Sai Dong Urban Primary School held its Week 1 Flag-Raising Ceremony on September 7, 2026, marking the beginning of the new school year. The programme launched the 2026–2027 Young Pioneers’ activities theme and introduced the “Making English a Second Language in Schools” model, creating opportunities for students to practise English confidently.

On the morning of September 7, 2026, in the joyful atmosphere of the early days of the new school year, the teachers and students of Sai Dong Urban Primary School attended the Week 1 Flag-Raising Ceremony – an opening activity for a school year with many meaningful goals, activities, and experiences.

During the flag-raising ceremony, the school’s Young Pioneers’ Organisation launched the theme for Young Pioneers’ activities for the 2026–2027 school year, officially starting a journey of training, striving, and growth for Young Pioneer members and children. Through Young Pioneers’ movements and activities, students will have more opportunities to develop their sense of discipline, team spirit, responsibility, confidence, and creativity.

In particular, during the first flag-raising ceremony of the school year, the school also introduced the model “Making English a Second Language in Schools” – a new milestone in the journey of building a modern, proactive, and internationally integrated educational environment at Sai Dong Urban Primary School. The model aims to create a familiar and natural English-speaking environment, giving students more opportunities to practise and gradually develop confidence in communicating in English.

The Week 1 Flag-Raising Ceremony was not only an opening activity for the new school week but also marked the first steps in implementing the goals of the 2026–2027 school year.
