For Grade 1 students, the first days at school are always a special time as they begin getting to know their teachers, classmates, and a new learning environment. To help students confidently adapt to their new environment, Sai Dong Urban Primary School organised a Grade 1 Experiential Activity thematic lesson using the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach. The lesson, taught by Ms. Ha Thi Thanh Binh, brought a joyful, open, and highly interactive learning environment.

With the theme "Making New Friends", students participated in many engaging activities such as meeting the character Doraemon, practising in pairs, joining the "Friendship Spinner" game, and singing and moving along with the song What's your name?. Through these experiential activities, students gradually developed the skills of greeting others, introducing themselves, asking their classmates' names, and building their first connections with their classmates.

The highlight of the lesson was the integration of English into every communication activity in a natural way that was suitable for Grade 1 students. Familiar sentence patterns such as "Hello!", "What's your name?", "My name is...", and "Let's be friends!" were used continuously in real-life situations, helping students remember the language through experience instead of memorisation.

Through the combination of experiential activities, educational content, and language, the lesson contributed to developing students' communication skills, confidence, collaboration, and the ability to connect with the people around them. At the same time, the lesson spread the message of friendliness, openness, and readiness to make friends, helping every student love their school more and confidently begin their learning journey.
