Sai Dong Urban Primary School launched the English Ambassadors Team and English Friday for the 2026–2027 school year on 23 October 2026. With 55 Ambassadors from 26 classes, the programme encourages students to practise English every Friday through engaging activities, supported by the English Passport, ahead of the 2026 English Festival.

On the morning of 23 October 2026, Sai Dong Urban Primary School held the Launch Ceremony of the English Ambassadors Team and the kick-off of English Friday for the 2026–2027 school year, beginning a series of activities aimed at spreading a love of English, encouraging students to communicate confidently, and gradually developing the habit of using English in the school environment.

The programme was attended by the School Leadership Board, teachers, staff, and all students of the school. In particular, 55 English Ambassadors from 26 classes across Grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 were officially introduced, ready to accompany their teachers and peers on the journey of practising English every day.

The ceremony took place in a lively atmosphere with a range of engaging activities, including an introduction to the meaning and objectives of the 2026 English Festival and the role of the English Ambassadors Team; a performance of the short English play “Help, Don’t Laugh!”; a quiz with prizes; and an introduction to the English Passport. The highlight of the programme was the launch of the English Ambassadors Team and their pledge in English, demonstrating their sense of responsibility and determination to spread the joy of learning throughout the school.

At the ceremony, the School Leadership Board officially launched English Friday – an activity encouraging teachers and students to use English in familiar situations every Friday. From greetings at the beginning of lessons and classroom instructions to quizzes, games, and language challenges, each activity provides additional opportunities for students to practise actively, communicate confidently, and use English naturally.

Accompanying the students is the English Passport – a passport that records their English practice through challenges and accumulated reward stamps. With an emphasis on encouragement, motivation, and recognition of progress, the activity aims to build a positive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to participate, gain experience, and develop their language skills.

The English Friday activities will take place over six Fridays, from 23 October to 27 November 2026, laying the groundwork for teachers and students to work towards the 2026 English Festival under the theme “Colours of the World”.
