Week 5’s Flag-Raising Ceremony at Sai Dong Urban Primary School featured practical lessons on health protection, traffic safety, civilized behavior, and reading. Students learned how to prevent seasonal diseases, wear helmets properly, practice polite and responsible behaviors, and explore meaningful books, nurturing healthy habits and becoming confident, caring, and responsible students.

On Monday morning, Sai Dong Urban Primary School held the Week 5 Flag-Raising Ceremony with many practical and relatable topics for students’ daily lives. More than just a time to look back on a week of learning and begin a new one, the Flag-Raising Ceremony is also an opportunity for students to learn more about the knowledge, skills, and ways of behaving that are necessary in life.

Taking care of our health begins with small things. In response to the risk of infectious diseases increasing during the seasonal transition, students were provided with basic knowledge about preventing and controlling Influenza A, viral diseases, and dengue fever. From washing hands regularly and maintaining personal and environmental hygiene to proactively monitoring their health, every small habit contributes to helping students protect themselves and the community.

Along with taking care of their health, safety is also an important part of every student’s journey of growing up. During the Flag-Raising Ceremony, the school presented helmets to students in Grade ..., thereby reminding them to wear helmets properly and develop an awareness of complying with traffic safety regulations whenever they travel to and from school or participate in traffic with their families.

From protecting themselves to knowing how to respect and care for those around them, students continued to receive education on the elegant and civilized lifestyle of Hanoi people. Polite words, courteous behavior, knowing how to queue, maintaining common hygiene, and being willing to help others are all simple yet meaningful expressions of a civilized student, contributing to building a friendly and happy school environment.

And so that these good habits can continue to be nurtured every day, the October Book Introduction brought students interesting books and stories, inspiring a love of reading, a spirit of exploration, and a desire to learn. Because every page of a book not only opens up a new world but also helps students learn how to think, feel, and live more beautifully.

A new week has begun at Sai Dong Urban Primary School – beginning with very familiar lessons: knowing how to take care of their health, knowing how to protect themselves, knowing how to behave with elegance, and knowing how to open their hearts to good things through every page of a book. From the small things they practice every day, students are gradually developing good habits and becoming confident, responsible, civilized, and caring students.
