In celebration of World Environment Day (June 5), World Oceans Day (June 8), the Month of Action for the Environment, and Vietnam Sea and Islands Week 2026, Sai Dong Urban Primary School is strengthening its communication and awareness-raising efforts to encourage all administrators, teachers, staff, and parents to take responsibility for protecting the environment, conserving natural resources, and building a green, clean, and beautiful living environment.
1. The Importance of Environmental Protection
The environment is the living space for humans and all other living organisms. In recent years, environmental pollution, climate change, plastic waste, and the depletion of natural resources have become increasingly serious, directly affecting people's health and quality of life, especially that of children.
Protecting the environment is not only the responsibility of government agencies but also the duty of every individual, family, and community. Simple actions such as disposing of waste properly, conserving electricity and water, and reducing the use of plastic bags all contribute to creating a safe and healthy environment for future generations.
2. Practical Actions to Protect the Environment
2.1 For Administrators, Teachers, and Staff
Strictly comply with environmental protection regulations in the workplace.
Keep classrooms, school grounds, and campus areas clean, green, and well maintained.
Promote environmental awareness among students through teaching and extracurricular activities.
Conserve electricity, water, and office supplies in daily work.
Minimize the use of single-use plastic products.
2.2 For Parents
Guide children to dispose of waste properly and maintain good personal and environmental hygiene.
Sort household waste at the source.
Reduce the use of plastic bags, plastic cups, and single-use plastic straws.
Choose environmentally friendly products whenever possible.
Save electricity and water in daily life.
Participate in environmental clean-up activities organized by the local community and the school.
3. Working Together to Reduce Plastic Waste
Plastic waste is one of the leading causes of environmental pollution. To help reduce plastic waste, all administrators, teachers, staff, and parents are encouraged to:
Carry a reusable water bottle when needed.
Use cloth or paper bags instead of plastic bags.
Reuse items whenever possible.
Collect and sort waste according to regulations.
Never litter.
4. Protecting Water Resources and Biodiversity
Clean water resources and healthy ecosystems are essential to human well-being and sustainable development. Everyone should:
Never discharge untreated waste or wastewater into rivers, canals, or streams.
Use water wisely in daily life.
Protect trees and care for green spaces at school and in the community.
Refrain from illegally hunting, exploiting, or trading wildlife.
