To help students nurture compassion and develop an awareness of caring for and sharing with those around them, Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet Anh and the students of Class 3A4 at Sai Dong Urban Primary School participated in a meaningful Moral Education lesson on the topic “Caring for Neighbours.”

A Cheerful Warm-up – Sharing Acts of Kindness: The lesson began with the cheerful melody of a song about well-behaved little birds who greet others politely. Through familiar and engaging questions from the teacher, Class 3A4 students enthusiastically shared examples of caring for others, such as helping elderly people cross the street, politely greeting their neighbours, and listening to and comforting neighbours when their families experience sadness.

Lively Role-playing and Situation-solving Activities: Through group discussions and role-playing activities, students explored familiar situations in everyday life: keeping quiet when a neighbour is ill; being ready to help when adults need assistance; respecting others' privacy; avoiding disturbing those around them; and always being friendly and getting along with their neighbours. With confidence and creativity, the young performers demonstrated thoughtful ways of handling each situation, conveying meaningful messages about kindness and sharing.

Integrating Knowledge – Nurturing Human Values: Alongside life skills development, Ms. Tuyet Anh skillfully incorporated knowledge of the Law on Children, helping students better understand their rights to rest, play, and recreation; their right to protection of privacy; and their responsibilities towards the community. In particular, through the story “Does It Hurt When You Fall?” about beloved President Ho Chi Minh, students gained a deeper understanding of compassion, care, and love for others.

The lesson came to a close in a cheerful atmosphere filled with smiles and enthusiastic applause. Hopefully, through these valuable lessons and experiences, every student in Class 3A4 will learn to show kindness through the smallest actions, always being polite, friendly, caring, and considerate towards their neighbours, thereby contributing to a civilised and warm community.
