FROM SMALL IDEAS TO SMART SOLUTIONS – LOOKING FORWARD TO THE 2026 STEM PRODUCT COMPETITION FINAL

The 2026 STEM Product Competition at Sai Dong Urban Primary School encourages students to turn everyday problems into smart solutions through creativity, design, programming, and hands-on practice. After exploring, creating, testing, and refining their products, finalists will present their ideas on October 9, celebrating innovation, problem-solving, and learning through experience.

An idea only truly becomes meaningful when it starts from a problem and is gradually turned into a solution. With the theme “From Small Ideas – Creating Smart Solutions”, the 2026 STEM Product Competition at Sai Dong Urban Primary School provides students with opportunities to apply what they have learned, observe real-life situations, identify problems, develop ideas, and gradually create products of their own.

From familiar questions such as how to make the school greener or how to solve a problem in learning or daily life, students begin by choosing a problem, seeking solutions, designing, and creating products. The initial ideas are then tested, adjusted, and improved, thereby helping students develop STEM thinking, design thinking, computational thinking, as well as creativity and problem-solving skills.

For students in Grades 1 and 2, familiar recycled materials become a source of inspiration for creating practical products aimed at addressing problems in daily life and building a green learning environment. For students in Grades 3, 4, and 5, programming and technology become tools for turning their ideas into reality and creating products connected with learning, the environment, and digital life.

After a process of exploration, making, testing, and refinement, the outstanding products are ready to enter the final round. At the 2026 STEM – Digital Citizens Festival and Reading Festival, the teams and students with finalist products will directly introduce and present their products on stage, sharing the process of turning their initial ideas into specific solutions.

On October 9, 2026, the Final of the 2026 STEM Product Competition will be where students’ ideas, products, and creative journeys come together. This will also be an opportunity for students to confidently present their achievements, spread new ways of thinking, and inspire a spirit of learning through experience, practice, and creativity.
