Amid the exciting atmosphere of Week 10, students of Class 1A6 enjoyed a fun Experiential Learning lesson on the topic “Being Friendly with Friends”. The lesson stood out for its integration of communicative English through the SIOP model, combined with visual and movement-based activities, helping students develop life skills while naturally learning a foreign language.

After an energetic warm-up with the song “Our Class Is United”, the students enthusiastically explored and practised three “friendship codes” in English: SHARE, HELP, and KIND.

At the “Situation-solving Workshop”, groups confidently role-played and addressed real-life situations at school, such as helping a friend get back on their feet or gently patting a friend’s back to comfort them when they burst into tears. Through these activities, students learned that friendliness must be demonstrated through concrete everyday actions.

The lesson came to an emotional close as each student carefully placed a leaf bearing a promise of friendliness onto the class “Tree of Love”, followed by the lively and exciting “Friendship – Freeze Dance”.
